Claudia, A(I.D.T.A), BA Hons Dance & Professional Practice
Claudia started dancing at Sandra Cheal School of Dancing at the age of 3 and primarily trained in Ballet, Tap, Freestyle and Contemporary. For 16 years she took part in many shows and examinations. Claudia then went on to attain her BA(Hons) Dance and Professional Practice degree at the University of Bedfordshire and graduated in 2012. Since then, she has been teaching at the school and in 2018 achieved her IDTA Level 4 Diploma in Dance Teaching in Ballet. Claudia performed as a dancer in the 2012 Paralympic Opening Ceremony and in her free time likes to attend Aerial Silks classes.

Nick
Nick started dancing at Sandra Cheal’s School of Dancing at the age of 4 and stayed at the school till he was 18 completing many exams and shows. During this time, Nick also trained at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts. Having gained a foundation in Ballet, Tap, and Modern, Nick found Contemporary Dance in which he came to specialise, finding particular enjoyment from Cunningham’s Choreography by Chance. Interested in the amalgamation of styles, Nick then went on to partake in workshops of Salsa, Kathak, and Hip-Hop to name a few, and looks to infuse these in his work. Nick rejoined Sandra Cheal’s in 2020 to teach.

Sarah (AISTD)
Sarah started dancing at the age of 4 at the MCB School of Dance in Brentwood with Muriel Albert. Here she trained in ballet, modern and tap, both RAD and ISTD, and took part in various shows, festivals and examinations. She gained her qualification as a teacher with the ISTD working closely with Muriel. Sarah then went on to take over the school when Muriel retired.

Whilst bringing up her family of boys (Nick being the youngest!) Sarah taught dance part time, which included working on a number of shows at the Mercury in Colchester. She took over Sandra Cheal School of Dancing in 2020 after Sheila retired.

Sophie
Came to Sandra Cheal School of Dancing as a child and is currently teaching at Mark Hall Academy Secondary School as a Drama and Music teacher. Sophie loves every minute of teaching and is so glad to be part of the dance family we have here and teach all the students everything she knows to help further their knowledge and career.
